No democracy in BNP: Quader, Obaidul Quader, general secretary of the Awami League (AL), stated today that the BNP lacks the ability to bring about democracy in the nation because there is no democracy within the organization. “The ruling AL does not have a BNP counterprogramme. The BNP does not require leaders or workers to run the party; rather, it requires leaders and workers to present grievances to foreigners, the man claimed. Speaking at a meeting in preparation for the 22nd national council of the AL was Quader, who is also the minister of roads, bridges, and transit.

The conference was organized by the AL publicity and publication subcommittee and held at the political office of the AL President in Dhanmondi. As the principal guest, Quader stated that the AL did not feel envious of the BNP’s popularity. The popularity of each party in the nation will be demonstrated in the upcoming general elections, he continued.

The BNP leaders and activists, according to the AL general secretary, have already forgotten the day that their party held a council at a five-star hotel. Shahabuddin Chuppu, the convener of the AL publicity and publication subcommittee, presided over the meeting, which was moderated by Abdus Sobhan Golap, the AL publicity and publication affairs secretary.
Those present included the minister for postal services and telecommunications Mustafa Jabbar, AL office secretary Barrister Biplob Barua, deputy secretary for publicity and publications Aminul Islam Amin, and deputy office secretary Sayem Khan.
