According to Food Minister Sadhan Majumder, the current administration has been giving farmers free fertilizer and seeds to increase agricultural productivity. Additionally, he claimed that a particular group has been plotting to instigate an artificial fertilizer shortage in the nation, and that the government is using strong-arm tactics to stop them.

The minister firmly asserted that there is currently no fertilizer shortage in the nation since the government is providing billions of taka in fertilizer subsidies to help farmers and agriculture grow. He explained to the farmers gathered there that although the government must buy fertilizer at a cost of 6,500 Taka per sac, the farmers must pay between 800 and 1,100 Taka for it.

On this occasion, the minister gave 5,010 small and marginal farmers fertilizer and seeds of wheat, maize, mustard, sunflower, lentil, grass pea, groundnut, mugdul, and onion as part of the agriculture incentive program.
