As Foreign Minister Dr. Momen is set to meet with his Russian counterpart during the tour, Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen made these statements to the media today. After a seminar at the Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies, he told reporters, “We have invited him and there is a possibility that he would be here. visit will offer us an opportunity to highlight our concerns and key issues with Russia” (BIISS).
The 22nd IORA Council of Ministers (COM) meeting will take place in Dhaka on November 24. Earlier, Foreign Minister Momen requested his Russian counterpart to participate. Apart from his primary focus on the IORA meeting,
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei-Lavrov is set to be here on November 23 to discuss bilateral, regional, and global matters of mutual concern. Russia participates in the Indian Ocean Rim Association’s dialogues.
