Price fall in large-cap drives stocks down, Both of the country’s stock exchanges, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), fell further today, mostly as a result of a decline in the price of large-cap shares. The DSEX, the main index, decreased by 24.26 points, or 0.39 percent, to reach 6,190.99. The DSE 30 Index, which includes blue chips, down 2.99 points to end at 2,177.41, and the DSE Shariah Index (DSES), which includes Islamic stocks, dropped 5.87 points to complete the day at 1,342.99.

The market’s most important metric, turnover, was low and came in at Taka 3,519.02 million, down from Taka 4,228.89 million in the previous session of the week. On the DSE trading floor, out of the 305 issues traded, 69 declined, 13 rose, and 223 stayed unchanged. CLICL posted a 9.80 percent gain for the day, while Aamra Net lost 12.02 percent, making CLICL the top gainer of the day.

The Selective Categories Index (CSCX) lost 37.80 points to close at 11,014.41 and the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) lost 61.48 points to conclude the day at 18,382.62 on the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE). On the CSE, of the issues traded, 50 went down, 13 went up, and 71 stayed the same.

On the port city’s exchange, 32.09 lakh shares and mutual fund units were traded for a total turnover value of about Tk 13.15 crore.
