The award is intended to recognize young changemakers around the nation, support their networking efforts, and improve the services they are already offering to their communities. Young Bangla, the youth division of the Centre for Research and Information (CRI), has been awarding the Joy Bangla Youth Award to young people and youth organizations that have successfully changed the societal paradigm in their respective fields since it was founded in November 2014.
Ten youth organizations will receive awards during the sixth iteration of the event in five categories, including women’s empowerment, children’s rights, the empowerment of people with disabilities and the impoverished, among others. In addition, three people will receive the “Lifetime Joy Bangla Youth Award” for their exceptional service to the nation.
Out of almost 600 applications from youth organizations, the 10 youth organizations were chosen. The award ceremony will be broadcast live starting at 3 PM today on the verified pages of Young Bangla and CRI.
