Infusing dynamism into VSC activities in Rajshahi underscored
This observation was made by Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) representatives on Tuesday at the 22nd meeting of the VSC’s steering committee, which was held in the conference room at RMP headquarters. In the meeting, a number of topics, including the causes of the steadily increasing number of violations against women and children collectively and solutions to those, were thoroughly discussed.

The meeting was presided over by RMP Commissioner Abu Kalam Siddique, and speakers included Deputy Commissioner Saiduddin Shahin, Additional Commissioners Faruque Hossain, Bijoy Basak, and Shamsunnaher. The meeting was attended by representatives of several partner NGOs, including BLAST, Bangladesh Mohila Parishad, BNWLA, Marie Stopes, and ACD.
The victim assistance center was established by Bangladesh Police, according to Abu Kalam Siddique, in an effort to reach victims who live in outlying locations. RMP provides legal aid, psychological support, and rehabilitation facilities to victims who are women and children.
The victim support center’s integrated services have institutionalized and concentrated the Bangladesh Police’s pro-people service delivery program. During the meeting, strategies for injecting dynamism into the VSC activities were discussed and developed.
