BNP trying to create chaos on Dec 24: Quader, Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, MP, today said the BNP is inciting chaos in the name of organising a protest rally on December 24 when the national council of Awami League will be held. “The national council of Bangladesh Awami League is scheduled to be held on December 24 next . . . But the BNP is trying to create chaos by calling a protest rally on that day,” Quader said.

The AL general secretary added: “Being failed on December 10’s rally, the BNP is now plotting a conspiracy to create a mess on December 24.” Speaking at the rally organized by Awami League Dhaka North City unit at the old trade fair ground, Quader also called upon BNP to cancel their programme. “Two months ago our leader (Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina) fixed the date of the conference on December 24 next . . .”
Senior AL leader also urged the party leaders and workers to remain alert against the militant outfits, who have been brought to the field by the BNP to create anarchy. About the caretaker government, Obaidul Quader said, there is no caretaker government in any country except Pakistan. Issuing a threat to the troublemakers, the Minister said, “We gave many concessions but not more from now. They (BNP) have become crazy to assume power.”
The AL general secretary said Sheikh Hasina still has a five-month reserve to import products and the country’s income is increasing day by day.“We have turned around during the Covid-19 pandemic under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. We will turn around again even in the current world crisis InshaAllah,” he added.
AL presidium members – Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Mofazzel Hossain Chowdhury Maya Bir Bikram, and Quamrul Islam, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Organizing Secretary Mirza Azam, Juba League Chairman Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash, Mohila AL President Meher Afroz Chumki, Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam, Dhaka North City unit of AL president Sheikh Bazlur Rahman and general secretary SM Mannan Kochi also spoke at the rally.
