A meeting of Awami League (AL) central election conducting committee on the upcoming Barishal City Corporation (BCC) election was held today.The meeting was held at AL president Sheikh Hasina’s political office in the city’s Dhanmondi area, a press release said.

Abul Hasnat Abdullah, MP, chief of the election conducting committee and a member of AL central working committee, presided.AL presidium members Jahangir Kabir Nanak and Abdur Rahman, AL Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, AL Organising Secretary Afzal Hossain, AL International Affairs Secretary Dr Shammi Ahmed, AL Office Secretary Barrister Biplab Barua, Industries and Commerce Secretary Siddiqur Rahman, AL Central Working Committee members Anisur Rahman and Golam Kabir Rabbani Chinu attended the meeting, among others.
The meeting decided to organize special extended meetings on May 26 and June 1 at 3 pm on the Gournadi Pourasova premises in Barishal to make AL-nominated mayoral candidate Abul Khair Abdullah victorious.
AL central leaders will address the meeting, the release added.
