Cabinet Secretary calls on Speaker, Cabinet Secretary Dr Kabir Bin Anwar called on Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Choudhury at her Sangsad Bhaban office here today and exchanged greetings on the occasion of New Year 2023.

During the meeting, they discussed the ongoing development of Bangladesh and various issues including Trade Fair 2023, the progress of women, and the creation of new employment, an official release said. The Speaker said due to the relentless efforts of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the economy of Bangladesh is still functioning better than the economy of many countries struggling due to the coronavirus pandemic and the Ukraine war.
A new trend has started in Bangladesh with the start of metro rail, while the Prime Minister inaugurated the Dhaka International Trade Fair today to support the promotion, expansion, marketing, and production of domestic products, in which many women entrepreneurs are involved, she said.
Shirin said the government is working to maintain a women-friendly business environment, emphasizing job opportunities for youth. Kabir bin Anwar wished the Speaker a happy English New Year and said the digital fair is going on by showing documentaries on Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Liberation War aiming to inspire the new generation with the spirit of the Great Liberation War and the ideals of Bangabandhu.
