Govt compensates four more people for acquiring land in Rajshahi. The government has given Taka 2.15 crore as compensation to four more people for acquiring their land for a development project in the district.The government has acquired their lands for implementation of a project for establishing a sports school under Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP).

On the occasion, Abdul Wahab, Jahidur Rahman and Towhidur Rahman, residents of Fudkipara area in Rajshahi city, received bank cheques worth Taka 1.22 crore, Taka 56.17 lakh and Taka 35.40 lakh respectively.The cheques of compensated money were distributed at a function at the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner (DC) here on Tuesday afternoon.

DC Shamim Ahmed accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Shariful Haque distributed the cheques saying the government is very much positive to compensate the people whose lands are acquired for the projects timely.

He also said the present government under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been implementing diversified projects for overall development of the country.DC Shamim urged all quarters to extend their wholehearted cooperation for successful implementation of the projects.

Earlier, 336 other affected landowners were given Taka 64.57 crore as compensation for implementation of various other projects, including city road widening and improvement by Rajshahi City Corporation, surface water treatment by RWASA and BKSP regional centre establishment in nine consecutive phases in the district.
